Skort-ing my blogging out.

Wednesday 30 April 2014
Hello guys! So again I have to apologise for my lack of blogging; I have had so much uni work lately, which is not fun! I did however manage to pop into town the other day and picked up a couple of skorts (do you call them a pair of skorts or a skort? tricky!).

This skort is one of my favourite pieces at the moment! I love the pretty pastel colours that are mixed with bold black lines and patterns. Also, the background colour is white, which is my favourite colour of clothing for spring/summer 2014. In these photos I decided to team the skort with a simple black bodysuit and black heels, just to show the beauty of the skort. However I will definitely be wearing this skort in the day-time when the weather warms up and I think it will look amazing with a thing pastel jumper or a simple white or blue cami (possibly the one shown in my previous post). I have also included a photo of my favourite Zara clutch (sorry about the terrible quality), which I think looks amazing with this skort; it really picks out the bright green pattern and I like the slight clash.

I'd love some more ideas of what to wear with this skort, please leave me a comment and tell me how you'd wear it!

Pastel princess.

Thursday 24 April 2014
Hello everyone! I'm sorry I've left it so long since I last blogged; I've been a busy bee! So, I mentioned in my last post that I had a quick trip to Westfield the other week.. well I kinda went back! Me and my boyfriend were celebrating 5 years together last week and we decided to go shopping and then stay at a hotel near the shopping centre. This excited me very much!

I have definitely become pastel obsessed lately and brought quite a few pastel beauties in Westfield. I  thought I'd show you how I styled them. So before going, I decided I specifically wanted a light blue cami and when I saw this pretty one I snapped it up. I like how the straps cross over at the back and therefore make the top a semi-halterneck. I think camis are generally very versatile as can be worn with pretty much anything but think this colour will be especially versatile for summer- I'll be wearing it with white jeans, blue jeans, shorts and patterned trousers.

Moving on to the skirt! I fell in love with this skirt when I saw it in Zara! I'm also a little obsessed with white and therefore this skirt ticked all my boxes! I love the lace overlay and how classy it is. I feel it could be styled into a day-time look like shown above, but would look equally as stylish with an edgy, baggy black top and black Chelsea boots for a night out.

I decided to team these items with a pretty blue necklace that I picked up from newlook a few months ago and some simple nude heels for a perfect spring/summer outfit. Now all I need is a tan.. come on mr sunshine!

Do you love pastels? How would you style yours? Let me know!

Little black skirt.

Tuesday 15 April 2014
Hello! So this post is dedicated to something I think every girl has or should have in their wardrobe- a little black skirt. I have many but here are two of my newbies; I couldn't decide which one to blog so I decided I'd do both (apologies for how large I look in these photos).

T-shirt- Primark
Necklace- Primark
Chelsea boots- Office

The PVC skirt. This is a skirt I have constantly seen popping up on instagram and in stores, it's really taken the fashion world by storm. I picked  mine up a couple of months ago actually, but I've yet to have had the opportunity to wear it out. These photos show how I would wear this skirt. I think wearing a simple, edgy t-shirt really compliments this skirt and makes a really sassy outfit! I love mixing casual items with more dressy items!

Necklace- Maddison Boutique
Shoes- River Island (similar here)

So these outfits are pretty similar, I know, but I think this shows how a shiney and a matte skirt can change an outfit but look equally good. And I just had to blog this quilted skirt.. it was £3!! What a bargain hey! This skirt was marked down to £5 in the sale in Prmark, but when I got to the checkout, it was knocked down even more to £3! I love it when that happens. I've teamed this skirt with one of my favourite tees at the moment; my celfie top from Ark.

Both of these outfits show a stylish way to wear a black skirt, without being too dressy.

Let me know what you think, and how you'd style your favourite black skirt..

Statement trousers.

Thursday 10 April 2014
Hello everyone! So, I'm really liking statement trousers at the moment; trousers which are a bit 'out of the ordinary' and can be dressed up or down! A high-waist is normally something I look for in trousers as I feel this compliments my figure more than low-rise. So this week, I decided to go on a search for the perfect trousers..

I went to Westfield this week with my boyfriend and my friend; I decided this would definitely be the place to look for the perfect pair of trousers. We arrived late in the day and therefore I only had a few hours to shop. Lets just say I looked like a crazy lady with a shopping addiction (probably accurate haha)! I rushed around, visiting as many shops as possible and found myself in River Island. There, on a central rail were these beautiful blue trousers. I decided they definitely fitted the bill and snapped them up!

I LOVE the colour of these trousers and the bold floral pattern. They are just so summery and as it is shown in the pictures, they can be worn with a simply top for a pretty day-time look but also could easily be dressed up for a night out paired with a silky black cami and black courts. When it comes to jewellery that could be worn with these trousers, a soft pink necklace would go perfectly due to this shade appearing in the middle of the flowers on the trousers.

These trousers can be found here: River Island (£32.00)
The top is also from River Island and is a must-have for your ss14 wardrobe in my opinion.
Top can be found here: River Island (£10.00)

Pub-attire.

Friday 4 April 2014
Hello everyone! As you may have noticed, I love light colours and pastels for day wear! But when it comes to a night out, I tend to go for a more grungy look and wear a lot of black. The other night I went for a few drinks at the pub and thought I’d blog what I wore to illustrate this. I wanted to dress casually as I wasn’t going to any clubs, just having a few drinks, yet wanted to look nice ( I always tend to overdress rather than underdress).

I decided my leather-look jeans would fit this smart-casual criteria and teamed these with a black and white shirt. It looks grey in these photos but this is due to its small/tight stripes. I felt a small pop of colour was definitely needed for this outfit and decided a bright red lipstick would do the trick! I don’t usually wear red lipstick, or any lipstick really, as I prefer a nude lip for my pale skin tone. However I actually quite liked this colour for this outfit! I teamed this with my new Primark necklace and my favourite grey studded bag which I picked up a few years ago when I visited Florida on holiday!

These items are quite old so could be difficult to find the exact ones.

Chunky Black Sandals.

Thursday 3 April 2014

Hello again. Here are my newest favourite shoes; I felt they definitely deserved a blog post!
I must say, I get way too excited about receiving packages through the post. It makes me so happy! I came home from Uni this week to find my Asos parcel had been delivered and inside were these beauties! I know the weather isn’t really warm enough for them yet but when I saw them on the website I decided they were a must-have. These sandals have a chunky sole, which I love, and simple patent straps which allows them to fit perfectly with so many different outfits! As shown in the pictures, they go great with jeans and therefore could be worn in spring, before it gets warmer (yay!). A bright nail varnish really helps show off these shoes! – Shoes: Asos £25. Can be found here: ASOS FIZA sandals.

For other similar sandals try clicking on the following:
Juju Seven Black Flat Jelly Sandals (£15.00), ASOS Fear Chunky Sandals (£42.00) or Newlook black chunky sandals (£19.99).

Jelly Shoes!

Hello everyone! Jelly shoes are BACK and I am soooooo glad!
I walked into Office earlier this week and immediately was drawn to the ‘juju jelly shoe’ stand! I had previously seen these shoes popping up on instagram and knew I had to own a pair. I had a clear glittery pair when I was little and loved them back then; almost as much as I love them now! I decided I liked the white and black the most (however I was tempted to buy the glittery ones again) and tried on both. I was not prepared for what was to come next.. the decision of which to pick. I literally sat in Office for half an hour trying to decide which I wanted more, I even called my mum for her opinion haha. Finally I decided the white were coming home with me! ..I do feel that I will probably return and buy the black too though! These shoes are a NECESSITY for spring/summer 14 and will look amazing with jeans, dresses and shorts! They are really comfy aswell and hey you can even pop in the sea in them.. haha x

To buy these shoes click on the following: Office JuJu Jelly (£25.00) or for a cheaper option: Newlook Jelly Shoes (£14.99).
